From routine checkups to immunizations, Pediatrics of Akron is equipped to handle all of your child's health needs. To help you and your family understand your treatment options, we've included descriptions of some of our leading services on this page.

Advice Line : The telephone is an integral part of our practice.  Our phone triage staff is specially trained to answer your questions and offer advice on common illnesses and routine child care.  If you need advice, please call our advice line at (Akron) (330) 253-7753 , (Cuyahoga Falls) (330) 920-8333 .  Calling during regular business hours allows us to access your child's medical record so we may provide individualized advice as needed.

Same day sick appointments : We make every effort to see your sick child on the day you call.  We realize your time is valuable and try to keep waiting time to a minimum.  At certain epidemic times of the year, there may be longer waiting times. Saturday morning hours are also available for urgent care visits, so please call early on Saturday morning,(beginning at 830) for an appointment.

ADD/ADHD appointments : If your child has been diagnosed with ADD/ADHD, regular follow-up and close medication management are critical. After the initial evaluation and diagnosis, a medication recheck is recommended within 1 month followed by ADD/ADHD specific visits at least 3 times per year. These visits allow us to discuss your child's progress and address any problems or concerns. Additional office visits may be necessary until it has been determined your child is doing well on the prescribed medication.

Sports Physicals : A sports physical- also known as a pre-participation physical- is a check up to assess your child's health and fitness.  During the sports physical, the provider looks for any illness or injury that could make it unsafe to participate in sports.  We believe your child's pediatrician is the best person to perform the sports physical due to the relationship we have established with your child as well as being familiar with your child's past medical history.Should you have any sports participation forms that need completed and signed by your health care provider, PLEASE bring forms with you so they can be completed during the visit.
